ROXScience

Welcome to ROXScience, here you will have the opportunity to learn about the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Science (NJSLSS). We invite you to look over the resources available to educators, parents, and students.

Science and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) are all around us.  The only requirement needed is curiosity.  We are naturally curious, constantly observing, seeking solutions, asking how things happened, and creating ways to solve problems.  It is natural for humankind to make sense of what they see and this is especially true of children.  While science can't provide all the answers, it has the ability to assist us in making informed decisions.

Encourage your children to ask questions, make predictions, offer up explanations, and explore their world in a safe manner.  You don't need a degree in science to be a scientist, you're already one because of the desire for knowledge.  Science "happens and occurs" around us every day, the opportunities to connect and explore with your child are endless.

Preparation for a more scientifically and technologically complex world requires the best possible education.  In a rapidly changing, increasingly technological world, all students need to understand science and technology.  As global citizens, we need to be scientifically literate to make informed decisions about health, safety, welfare, and environmental stewardship.
